Yucky Chemical - TEA - Stearate

What is it?

An emulsifier or cleanser which may be genetically modified, animal derived and petroleum derived.

Concentration limits based on the amount of Triethanolamine in the product were set for products intended to be left on the skin by the CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review Board of America)

Where is it found?

Used in a variety of baby, bath, eye makeup, fragrance, hair, makeup, nail, personal cleanliness, shaving, skin and suntan preparations, moisturisers and mascaras.

Yummy Chemical – Guar Gum

What is it?

Guar Gum is a thickener, or binding agent. As it has almost eight times the water-thickening potency of cornstarch it is an economical ingredient to use in production processes.

Where is it found?

Created from the guar seeds, or the guar bean. The guar seeds are dehusked, milled and screened to obtain the guar gum. It is typically produced as a free-flowing, off-white-colored, ground powder used in food preparation, cosmetics, moisturisers, personal care products, beauty products and for example the Integrity Cosmetics Nourishing Moisturiser
